Pictures from all-around southern-Holland, and Gent in Belgium, with more hopefully to follow!
These are almost exclusively taken on the return from family holidays in places in Germany, on the way to Rotterdam docks, although Zeebrugge has received a visit as well.

 | 11th April 2009 to 4th February 2010 | ARNHEM
Arnhem station itself is in the middle of an industrial-sized building site, and is very much a 'work in progress' at present!!
The 'diet' of trains is regular and frequent:
- DB/NS ICE3M EMUs work the two-hourly Köln-Amsterdam services,
- 17xx electrics operate the hourly 'InterCity' to Amsterdam,
- Syntus use 'LINT41' and hired 'Buffel' DMUs on their services,
- 'Regiorunner' EMUs cover the majority of other duties!

 | 30th January 2010 | NIJMEGEN
Pictures from Nijmegen, 20kms down the line from Arnhem (my new home for 6 months) and noticeably less-important in the whole scheme of things.
Passenger traffic is a regular 'diet' of 'RegioRunner' EMUs on 'Intercity' workings, whilst 'Sprinters' handle the half-hourly stopping service to Zutphen via Arnhem, and 'Hondekop' EMUs and Veolia's 'GTW' DMUs handle the 'Stoptrein' workings to 's-Hertogenbosch and Roermond respectively. Also observed was a 17xx with a rake of 'ICM' stock, but these seemed less frequent.

 | 7th April 2009 | Enschede
Pictures from Enschede, on the Dutch-German border, just inside Holland.
Enschede station itself is a strage affair; it is double-ended but has no through platforms!! Most services are NS-operated and work deep into the Netherlands, whilst a half-hourly services (hourly Prignitzer Eisenbahn service to Dortmund and hourly DB Regio service to Münster (both in Germany), leaves from the eastern side of the station, and split at Gronau (inside Germany).

 | 8th August 2008 | Gouda
A short stop-off at Gouda on our way back from Hannover to the ferry at Rotterdam.
|
 | 14th April 2007 to 8th August 2008 | ROTTERDAM Europoort
Pictures taken of locos stabled in the huge dock complex in Rotterdam
|
 | 25th October 2007 | ROTTERDAM Centraal
Pictures taken from Rotterdam Centraal station
|
 | 22nd October 2007 | GENT Dampoort
A stop-off at Gent-Dampoort whilst heading into Germany for a few days.
This turned-ou to be the less-interesting of the two Gent stations; we didn't know this at the time!
Passenger services consisted mainly of Class 41 DMUs and AM96 EMUs, with some Cass 27-powered double-decker passenger trains.
Freight was limited, although we did observe a couple, both electric- and diesel-hauled, by Class 22 electrics and a Class 62 diesel-hauled infrastructure train.

 | 17th August 2006 | UTRECHT
A number of pictures taken during a stop in Utrecht on the way back to Rotterdam docks in August 2006.
Utrecht is a pretty-major junction-station in central-Holland, and features quite a wide-variety of traction, from the ever-reliable 17xx-electrics through the ever-present 'Regiorunner' EMUs to the ubiquitous 64xx/65xx-diesels and 29xx 'Sprinter' EMUs.

I'm David, I live in Leeds, Northern England, and I like going out Railwaying. My usual 'haunts' are the West Yorkshire area, particularly Leeds station. I also visit Manchester, York and Doncaster relatively often, so pictures come from across the north of England.
Relatively often we visit Germany, having covered most of the Rhein, and further 'inland' as well - Hamburg & Hannover in August '08, with Münster the target for this coming week. I lived in Rosenheim, Bayern for 10 years, and finally went back there two years ago!! :-)
